Seven areas, your own priorities
Compare Newcastle student neighbourhoods.
Get a feel for each area, then check the home itself. There is no single best neighbourhood for every group, and journeys vary by address and teaching building.

| SandyfordGuide & local sourcesArea map | City-side streets & campus choices | Choose your actual campus entrance, then try your evening route home. | Plan from Sandyford |
| City CentreGuide & local sourcesArea map | Markets, shops & city life | Check the building entrance, bike storage and any shared facilities you need. | Plan from City Centre |
| QuaysideGuide & local sourcesArea map | Riverside walks & bridge views | Check which bank the home is on and any hills, steps or bridge crossings. | Plan from Quayside |
| Spital TonguesGuide & local sourcesArea map | Village history & green spaces | Plan from the exact address to your university or placement building. | Plan from Spital Tongues |
| FenhamGuide & local sourcesArea map | Library study stops & local life | Compare walking, cycling and current bus options for your daily campus journey. | Plan from Fenham |
On a phone, swipe the table sideways. Map links start from the neighbourhood, not a particular home. In the area guide, replace the starting point with the exact property address and select your teaching building. Check the current route, accessibility and transport options before deciding.
🎬 A first look at what's coming
Watch Newcastle Residential's two launch albums, then register with its team for the 2027/28 launch. These are coming-soon previews; each available advert has its own confirmed details.
Watch Newcastle Residential's launch reels →Find the Newcastle home that fits your group
Compare the exact address and your journey to university, the bedrooms your group needs, and the advertised move-in date. Each listing shows its academic year. Bills-inclusive rent appears first where the agency has confirmed it, with the separately recorded rent in brackets.
Every home identifies its advertising agency. Your enquiry stays with that agency, and its team confirms current availability and the viewing appointment.
A little help with the house hunt
Newcastle student housing questions, answered.
From your first area search to agreeing a viewing, here are the essentials.
Where should we live as students in Newcastle?
Start with your group's routine: your teaching buildings, shops, green spaces and the places you like to meet. Compare Newcastle's neighbourhoods, then check the journey from each home's exact address. The right area depends on your group, rather than one neighbourhood being best for everyone.
Does 2027/28 mean a home is available to move into now?
No. The academic year groups adverts for that year; each home has its own advertised move-in date. Launch reels are coming-soon previews, not confirmation that a home is available. Check the year and available-from date on the individual advert, then confirm the details with its advertising team.
Does the advertised student rent include bills?
PPPW means per person, per week. A confirmed bills-inclusive price appears first, with the without-bills or base rent in brackets. If an inclusive amount has not been supplied, we say ‘Bills-inclusive price to confirm’. Check the individual advert for which bills are included and any limits; ask the advertising team about anything unconfirmed.
How do we share homes and decide with our mates?
Save a home, open Our shortlist and enter a nickname to create a shared shortlist. Copy the group invite or share it on WhatsApp. Your mates join with a nickname, vote Love it / Maybe / Pass and save notes. Votes and saved notes update automatically about every 10 seconds while the page is visible and online. Anyone with the invite can join; leave contact details out of notes.
Is my viewing booked when I send a request?
A viewing request is not a confirmed appointment. Open the home you want to see and send your preferred viewing options where offered. The advertising team receives your enquiry and contacts you to confirm an agreed time. For supported requests, open My viewings in the browser tab you used, or use your private request link.
Do I need an account to browse Newcastle student homes?
No account is needed to browse public homes, read area guides or create a shared shortlist with a nickname. A viewing enquiry asks for your name, email and mobile number so the advertising team can respond. Your group's shortlist votes and notes are not sent to an agency.
